Level
3 HAT (Theory)
This
4 - hour classroom program is the ideal companion to the practical
HAT course. It can also be taken independently. Level 3 HAT (Theory)
provides a greater understanding of the modern vehicle and how to
use it in today's traffic environment. Your drivers will learn the
critical importance of traction control, tire types and condition.
The course covers the various drive technologies (Front/Rear/All
and 4 Wheel Drive), their safety implications and control techniques
appropriate for each. Transmission types and control techniques,
full and partial Anti-Lock Brake; Active/Passive Passenger Restraints
systems will also be covered. Level 3 HAT also looks at the physical
factors effecting traction and control in intersections, curves,
hills, railway crossings, bridges, tunnels, highway/freeway entrances
& exits and multi-lane roadways. With this background and the practical
training of Level 1 and Level 2 HAT, you can expect lower incident
frequency along with lower vehicle operating and maintenance costs.
Level 3 HAT will help drivers learn: Why pre-trip inspections are
important for all drivers; how and why correct vehicle control techniques
help maintain traction, stability and control; how to use brake,
transmission, drive and steering systems safely and correctly; plus
how to deal with various road conditions and situations.
